Belly dance courses. Performances in the following styles: Traditional Arabian dance, veiled dance, “clean dance” (balady), candle dance (shamadan), dance with sticks (saidi), hair dance, drum solos, finger cymbals, folklore. Shows in fantasy, jazz and other styles: Turkish, Indian, Latin dances.
The Pannonia Ensemble is group of dancers full of passion for the authentic village dances of the different regions of Hungary and Transylvania : couple’s dances, solos for men, women’s round dances, songs, shouts and improvisations. An heritage collected by researchers in the villages and tought to a wide public since the seventies. The group has dancers of all levels , a rich array of cultural backgrounds and differents ages. Pannonia is active in the cultural life of the Geneva area and regularly performs at festivals, shows or parties and organizes “táncház” or “dance-houses” : dance evenings with demonstrations and teaching.
The Dance-house Guild was founded in 1990, as a nationwide social organization of the táncház (dance-house) movement and the connected branches of folk art. Among its members there are professional artists, amateur performers, instructors, ethnographers as well as those who “only” like folk music and folk dance. Among the Guild’s aims are the realization of programs and publications, the collections of folk materials and educational projects, cooperating with other institutes and organizations.
