Campus Hungary - Study & Research in Hungary

Campus Hungary is a semi-formal alliance founded in February 2004 by various Hungarian higher education actors in order to promote Hungarian higher education abroad. Among its members are the various Hungarian higher education institutions that offer study programmes in foreign languages, the Confederation of Hungarian Conference on Higher Education and the Ministry of Education. The Campus Hungary Information Office hosted by the Office of the Hungarian Scholarship Board (HSB) acts as an administrative body responsible for the campushungary.hu web page and other management issues.

CEU - Central European University

CEU is an American graduate university with a focus on the social sciences and the humanities, accredited both in the United States and in Hungary, and located in Budapest, in the heart of Europe. The university is oriented to interdisciplinary research on, and the study of, social change and the policy implications of transition to open societies. In addition, emphasis is placed on European Union affairs, as well as on the special features of non-Western democracies.

CEU Business School

Since its foundation in 1988 by a group of visionary leaders including George Soros, CEU Business School has become one of the leading institutions of management education in Central-Eastern Europe. The special nature of CEU Business School can be seen in its commitment to playing an active role in introducing American style business education to the public and private sectors of the still transforming economies “east of the EU”. The programs of the Business School are delivered entirely in English, to a diverse student body that represents more than two dozen countries, many of who will be the future leaders and catalysts of change in the transforming economies of CEE and the successor states of the Soviet Union.

Budapest University of Technology and Economics

Institutum Geometrico-Hydrotechnicum, the legal predecessor of Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) was founded in 1782, and it was the first institute in Europe to train engineers at university level. Szent István University - Gödöllő

The schools of Szent István University, operating in Budapest, Gödöllõ and Jászberény, a model farm and research institute of almost 1000-hectares, a thousand teachers and two thousands other staff members, provide training for more than twenty-four thousand students. They can obtain university or college-level diplomas in 40 different undergraduate and graduate majors and a PhD degree in ten scientific fields. Eight hundred students come to the University from different countries of the world: they can study in Hungarian, English, German, French and Russian.

Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design

The Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design is committed to train traditional artist-craftsmen, as well as architects, designers and visual communication designers. Besides training artists, the University contributes to the rise of visual culture with the training of drawing teachers; and the art manager training course provides a link between the various branches of economy and the arts. The University assumes responsibility for elite training, not only in its graduate courses, but also in its thematic DLA and PhD courses, as well as in various other postgraduate courses. Regarding its library, art gallery and publications, the MOME is the spiritual workshop of applied arts. Instead of the traditional division between applied and fine arts and the separation of various art forms, the University enhances the openness and interconnection of the taught subjects.

Hungarian Studies Program at Indiana University

Hungarian Studies at Indiana University, Bloomington provides students with the opportunity to become acquainted with the culture, language, literature, politics, and history of Hungary. It is the only Hungarian Studies program in North America that offers an MA and a Ph.D in Hungarian Studies. Established already in the early 1960s, IU’s curriculum in Hungarian Studies is centered in the Department of Central Eurasian Studies (CEUS).

Jewish Theological Seminary - University of Jewish Studies

Throughout its more than 100 years history the Jewish Theological Seminary of Hungary has considered it its most fundamental mission and goal to keep alive and promote every area and aspect of Hungarian Jewish religious life; to be an intellectual-spiritual center that trains rabbis, highly qualified scholars and religious leaders. After the political changes of the years 1989-90 the training profile of the Jewish Theological University of Hungary was also expanded. Two specializations are offered in 1999 at the institution’s college-level faculty: at the Paedagogium: Teacher training in Judaism, Jewish Community and Social Work.

Semmelweis English Language Program

The basic aim of the University is to train medical and dental doctors and pharmacists who are able to provide safe and effective professional care. The University has a leading role in academic research in Hungary, providing - through its Ph.D. doctoral programs - highly qualified researchers for future generations. Applicants are required to be over the age of 18 and preferably under the age of 30, when registering to the university. The Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy at Semmelweis University seek students who completed high school/senior secondary school and who posses good command of English, and a strong motivation to study and practice medicine, dentistry or pharmacy.

Jewish Studies at Central European University

Jewish Studies at Central European University has played an important role in revitalizing the study of Jewish history, culture and society in a region where these topics were too often neglected or considered taboo. Established in the years of euphoria following the fall of Communism, Central European University offers a unique opportunity for students to study the ramified Jewish experience in Central and Eastern Europe from the eighteenth century until today. In a one-year master's program, students can choose from core courses taught by the permanent faculty alongside a wide range of courses taught by visiting professors from Israel, North America, and Europe. CEU also offers a Ph.D. program for advanced students.
