Association of Csángó Hungarians in Moldova

The term Csángó is applied to the ethnic group of Hungarians living in Moldavia, Romania. The Association of the Csango Hungarians of Moldova (MCSMSZ) was established in October of 1990 in the city of Sepsiszentgyögy/Sf. Gheorghe. According to the Protocol of the Establishment the goal of the Association is to “Protect the well- being and rights of the Csango Hungarian Community.” Further, “The purpose of the of the Association to strengthen the identity and communion of its members and to assists in the preservation and development of the native language, culture, art and scientific endeavors.” The site is also available in Romanian language.
