The P-Air Győr-Pér Airport Development Ltd. was founded in 1994. The aim of the company was the utilization of the former military grass airfiled, and also development to an international regional airport. The airport development works – sponsored by EU PHARE CRC Program and AUDI Motor Hungaria Ltd. – started in 2000. The new asphalt runway, apron and other infrastructre was opened in 2003. The real advantage of the airport can be found int the advancement of the region.
